Long Woltjer: International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It's British and you can apply for in many schools around the world or the British cultural centers around the world. It's the same all over the world and accepted in almost all countries of the world. It's better of course than [Thanwya ama], but you have to face the unfair laws and regulations of Egypt if you decided to go through this. In Egypt many ignorant officials consider it backdoor or something they should fight, so they may treat you like a spy..I'm exaggerating of course just to let you know some problems against all the advantages you may find in it.It's considered to be one of the best if not the best certificate of secondary education world wide. You can select the subjects from many subjects available and you may also chose what to take in the first term or the second or take more than what's required. It needs a good will and planing for the future before you decide. You need to check! the requirements every year for the faculty or university you may wish to join before you select the subjects. It needs a good English which may not be available in Arabic schools, and it needs good understanding and flexibility for a different style of education. It doesn't depend on memorising information. You'll need high grades to join the university inside Egypt by IGCSE. It's a good choice if you want to travel abroad. Just remember it's completely different from the Egyptian or the Arabic education system and not similar to the American system also. It's harder, smarter, but more interesting and more knowledgeable....Show more
