Tricia Dossous: I like it when their relationship grows throughout the book because then people would actually want them to be together but they shouldn't have a sappy I love you all the time relationship. Yes, conflict is a very good thing but don't have it be too dramatic and over the top. That way, people can relate to the characters. Take Twilight for example, no one experiences love like that and Bella is very clingy. Just make sure the characters have alone time as well. Also, don't have them be serious all the time. Magda Vandergriend: My husband and I take a minimum of 15 minutes a day to talk to each other with no distractions ( i.e. no cell phones, video games, tv). You would be surprised how sometimes you want to talk longer when you are re! ally talking. If it has been tense, that usually means someones needs are not being met and unfortunately no one can be a mind reader. The person is holding in resentment. When you do the 15 minute talk, you say what is bothering you. Whether it be the neighbor's car is in your parking spot, or you wanted to pick the anime movie. Doesn't have to be logical, relationships are emotional. Just listen to each other, acknowledge their needs, and drop it at that. It's not an attack on anyone; it's venting and it feels so good. If nothings wrong, talk about whatever you want.Its such a good thing to learn now because if you never do , this problem will come up again and again. Just remember how you felt when you first met him, and how great it feels to have somebody that really cares about you and likes the same things you like.I've been th! ere before, and I know how it feels.
