Kate Baune: Body only means that the lens is not included. It means that if you only make that purchase you won't be able to use the camera. You need to purchase other components in order to use the camera.
Tory Clapper: while a camera body is less expensive, the best value is to buy the camera with the factory "kit" lens. buying the complete kit is generally more economical than buying camera and lens separately.
