Pamela Meno: YES! Start using either Mobil One 0W-30 or DEXOS, if you haven't been. All later model engines work best with the newer synthetic oils. CHange it once a year. AMSOIL claims 25,000 miles between oil changes. EIther way, make surr that the oil you are using is LABELED for use in a GM car. WHat does that mean??? It means stay away from oils pumped from ceilings of quicky lubes that is unmarked or generic. THe right oil for your car will state on the label,"meets the specifications fo GM cars." and then there will be a specitifaction number. Power wash your engine from time to time, since excessive heat will get dissipated and the engine can cool evenly. Many crank sensors go bad from heat build-up, they cannot handle extra heat. >>>>check the color of your brake fluid>>>>>Brake fluid spoils and requries changing every 2-3 years. Most people do not knkow this, or don't get why! Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air. If you live in an area that is more humid o! r damp that other areas, it wil spoil sooner. It gets dark brown, and particles begin to form, gets acidic, toxic, and then turns intoe liquid sandpaper. WHen that happens your master cyilnder and calipers begin to go down with it. it is the most common reason for brake caliper replacement, and other brake replacement issues! Use ONLY the genuine GM Delco Supreme fluid, and NO other generic junk! FOr a bit more power and economy, try s aset of BOSCH Iridiim spark plugs. They burn a bit better than the factory ones do, even though you probably already have AC iridiums in there. SPark plug technology has come a L O N G way in the last few years. ANother thing to do is to have your coolant flushed and filled with either Mercedes YELLOW or Audi Rose/Violet. It will improve cooling and your gaskets and seals can last longer, Many GM cars as athey age te4nd to get bad intake gaskets from checial reactions with Dexcool. I hope Gm has sloved this problem, but you never know. It w! as not highly publicized. BUY FUEL EFFICIETN TIRES with LOw ro! lling re4sistances. THey improve handlin and MPG's as well. THese tires dissipate heat better, and their tread design allows for less engine power to move them down the road. THERE you have it. GOOD LUCK! Have your IDLE AIR CONTROL valve checked once in a while for cleanliness.A dirty IAC will begin to cause O2 sensor and converter clogging. THings you DO NOT want. Emile Midgley: On page 6-6 of the 2008 Chevrolet Impala owner's manual, it reads at 75,000 miles the fuel system and exhaust system should be checked for leaks, damage or loose components. At 100,000 miles these two should systems should be inspected again in addition to changing the engine air cleaner filter, automatic transmission fluid and filter along with changing the spark plugs. Wilfred Santacruce: I suggest asking the dealership. They have to do the work on the car if it's still under warranty. They will know what you need to have done. I'm hoping you have had other maintenance other than what you listed, there are many other things like transmission fluid change/flush, radiator service, etc that should've been done at 60K miles. Again, check with the dealership to be sure. Any answers you get here will be guesses.
