Nedra Oltz: No. Urban myth that's been around for 40 years. I can tell you with absolute certainty that color has no effect on insurance rates.
Wilfred Santacruce: Many years ago, PARADE magazine did a survey of car colors involved in collisions. WHITE was the safest color (more visible at nighttime.) I don't recall if surcharges were in place by insurance cos. for the various colors. As an instructor, I am often asked by parents for car choices - I suggest white as much as possible.(Look around and see how many driver training schools use WHITE cars!) FYI
Julee Lanham: I Don't Believe So. While Statistics Show That Red Cars Do Get Pulled Over More, Car Insurance Quotes Have Nothing To Do With That Because The Color Of Your Car Has Nothing To Do With How Experienced Of A Driver You Are. Red Cars Are Just More Noticable, So If You Are Speeding, A Cop Will Most Likely Notice You Before He Notices The Low Key Black Car Speed By...BUT, If You Don't Speed, Y! ou Have Nothing To Worry About ;)
Romeo Tinnea: No as previous answer said that myths been around for years. I've worked for several large insurers over the last 25+ years and never known colour to be a part of the pricing model. As for getting pulled over more... well it might also be an urban myth, but it amused to hear that bored traffic police play 'stop snooker' ...by pulling over cars of different colours to try and get 147 points in day .. so red cars (red balls) were more likely to get pulled over followed by black etc etcAs I say probably just a myth as much as the insurance one... but it made me laugh (my car is silver), and you never know !...Show more
Alden Sabio: Everyone knows RED cars are faster so maybe thats why TONY H said they get pulled overIf insurance is cheaper for another colour let us know and I will repaint my carBut to answer your question "NO"
Veta Slicker: No.
Jonathon Labonne: yes because they tend to get pulled over mor! e
