Isn't yahoo stupid? Not that I care about points because I am not gay...general opinions. Don't hate yahoo btw?

Mitsuko Manne: Yes.

Heidy Fujikake: Lol...you don't care about the points cuz you're not gay...LOLI guess you're right....but who cares

Rick Duchane: You know you make a very good point there. I absolutley agree, if it weren't for people asking questions Yahoo Answers would be nothing. I too hate it when they take away five points for asking a question SMH. Hope I Helped! :-)

Jess Grizzel: The way the Yahoo! Answers system works is when someone asks a question, they loose five points, and then gain some of those points back when they choose a Best Answer. The general concept behind that is to ensure people contribute, and that they either selection a Best Answer themselves, or allow the community to select Best Answer through voting. Aside from that, it encourages people to answer other peoples' questions, so they contribute to the community; otherwise, people would simply ask absurd questions for the sake of points, assuming they would be given points w! hen they asked a question.Points demonstrate to other Yahoo! users how helpful a particular user has been, it also shows how much effort they put into this. The Best Answer rating shows two things: A, the user's credibility is reflective of the amount of times their answers are chosen as Best Answer, B, they show either other members voted for their answer, or they cared enough to go back and vote for themselves. Is this stupid? Well, it is somewhat redundant in the sense that there is no physical reward. But that's not really what Yahoo! Answers is about. The idea is that people help each other out simply because they are human beings who care enough to share what they know. The points are merely a reflection of a users activity on Yahoo! Answers....Show more

Abraham Ladick: not sure but it is certainly possible a biological adaptation 1) scare off the attacker maybe ( kind of like a skunk) 2) more likely get rid of any possible body weight before running or fighting! 3) shock to to the nervous system from the adrenaline ( fight! hormon) tense the muscles and forget about bladder control.

Lorelei Lilburn: No, I turn my fear into rage.

Eva Lichlyter: Being loved.

Marti Declue: NO.But I've peed my pants.

Lester Haschke: there has to be some point system. Otherwise it wouldn't be so motivating. What would you use them for if not to ask questions or to reach a higher level so u can do more. I felt bad when I was a level 1&2 person also! Keep going!

Peggy Sandefer: No it's not dumb beside if you pick a best answer you get 3 points so he really only cost 2 points to ask a question

Zora Mazzie: well... being loved would be ok but if you don't love the other person back it kind of sucks as well. I'd rather love someone and have the feeling be mutual.

Georgia Dees: in proportion to how many questions people ask to how many get answered, it actually ends up paying way more points than it takes away. If every question gets thirty answers, that is sixty points it "pa! ys" and only five that got taken away. and most people answer more than they ask, so if they didn't "charge" five points, than people could just sit here and ask all day and never answer and it wouldn't work as well as it does now.

Barton Slisz: My buddy just sent this to me. I'm feelin it and would like to know what others think. He said this kid is getting a buzz where they're from and I think he might be about to blow up.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6GTHt2nfIM

Lady Laflin: I think a good question are just as interesting and important as good answers. So yeah it is kinda weird to take away points for asking questions.

Vickie Clampett: It wasn't a flood but it started to happen. We were at a huge reservoir for a 4th of July celebration and my brother, who was supposed to be watching my 4 year old son, lost him.I had ran to the truck and when I came back and asked where he was he said "I thought you had him." An image of his little body floating somewhe! re in ALL of that water flashed in my minds eye,my legs went out from u! nder me and it started to happen.I got my wits about me,found him and lucky for my brother didn't go to jail for murder. So far that has been the scariest moment of my life and I hope that it stays that way....Show more

Julee Lanham: Good..................................

Ulrike Hert: it is all about political correctness

Donte Schoenhals: No, or pooped either

Joni Ziak: I agree I think you should only lose 2 points when you ask a question. And gain 5 points when you answer.

Ulrike Hert: Being loved.Being in love just hurts.

Daren Ventrice: being loved and having love for ones self and having self respect and confidence in knowing when the relationship is done .That its time too let go and move on.

Lupe Sancen: I kind of agree. It actually happened to me once..Grr..I still remember, it was just a question....Show more

Zora Mazzie: I'd rather be in love. Here's the thing, just because someone loves me doesn't mean I love them. I ! feel bad when someone cares for me but I feel nothing for them. I'd rather love the person who loves me so in love....Show more

Verdie Wollen: "Not that I care about points because I am not gay.." in your words that is one reason why i hate people like this because they are to immatuare to ask a question in a proper way

Joesph Smithmyer: I have not.

Danette Slotnick: no

Ha Wolski: no i thinkt heyre stupid because theyre always taking coffee breaks. i have a lot of points i dont care about wasting them. lol

Thurman Buege: Its great to be loved - but sometimes it can still leave you empty inside. I would rather be in love as you come alive with passion and feelings that you don't normally have

Norine Lomonte: So if a guy cares about points he is gay? Yes, yahoo is dumb. But I can't help but get pulled into the points thing.

Donte Schoenhals: idk i dont get why they do thattheyre treating it like money or something loland i also hat! e how if youre on a roll answering questions and then yahoo decides to ! "take a breather" on youLAME...Show more

Melina Minneweather: i agree i think that every time you ask a question you get points

Carmina Stickney: and if so, what scared you.

Morris Olexy: I think Yahoo is basically encouraging people to share knowledge...hence it 'charges' people to ask questions and 'rewards' answerers. What if Yahoo did not use this point system? Probably, that would be one less motivation for answerers (after all, getting points is like playing some game; also, doesn't it feel great when your answer has been chosen as the best answer?) And why take off points for asking? Maybe because yahoo believes that for every 2 questions you ask, you should answer 5 questions - to keep the site running, precisely! ask yahoo!...Show more

Elvie Drumgoole: Dude, what does being Gay have to do with yahoo and it's points....lol..lol

Jules Ashbach: If you don't like it then leave. -_-

Caterina Yeargan: If you don't care about points, th! is question wouldn't be posted. But to answer your question, answers keep this site running more then the questions. You can ask a question anywhere, but if no one is there to answer it, you wasted your time. On a site like this one, people ask questions to get to opinion (answer) from multiple people. Therefore, without more answers then questions, this site would not work. As far as taking points, it is just a thing they do to encourage you to get involved in asnwering as many questions as you can in order to keep this whole thing fun and running....Show more

Walter Scordino: Not that scared

Myron Leftwich: Personally,I would rather be loved.:)(:What about you guys?...Show more

Joellen Zorrilla: i really like it, i find that i can get questions that i want answered and get some great answers too. If they didn't take away points for asking question the people would be constantly asking stupid question that they didn't care about. You have to really ! want a good answer to ask the question. They also need a reason to get ! people to come to the site. That reason is points.

Ardath Templer: absolutley correct i mean whats so wrong about asking a question its not just about answering

Marcellus Exler: I would prefer being in love, because to me, it means there's a mutual feeling between the two people. One-sided love, whichever way it goes is a recipe for disaster, and a lot of pain.I am very much in love right now, and I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything in the world (not even tonight's Powerball Jackpot), because being in love can get you through some very bad times....and make the good times absolutely glorious....Show more

Roni Kurz: Being loved...

Alma Twomey: yes

Leticia Laiben: I think it is a necessary regulation since it keeps people from asking questions that are less important to them. This avoids incoming traffic and keeps the facility organized.

Hugo Pittari: No, it makes sense actually.

Kenneth Thuesen: answer more questions than you! ask and it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Stan Conley: i would rather be loved...despite how being loved could get so effing annoying-but i would hate the fact that if i loved some one, and they didn't love me back

Heidy Fujikake: no, it's cause i wear adult diapers where ever i go.....

Lino Cawthorne: I cannot say that I have

Mahalia Brindle: being in love. the way i see it is that id rather be in love with one amazing person then be loved by some okay people

Dana Russian: Ive been so excited once i peed my pants, lets just say that i had one mad hooker.

Magda Vandergriend: If they didn't charge anything, we'd be swamped by questions.

Ewa Homrich: yes actualy i think its stupid, but it is helpful in ways if i need an question answerd but the whole point thing is stupid i really dont care for it,

Delmer Pectol: lol true. but really, it isn't that big of a deal.

Danyell Rowback: yes
