Professional Reference?

Mikel Bethay: If you are looking for a first job, it can be difficult to provide a reference. However, employers understand that everyone has to start somewhere, and should not discriminate against people who have not had a previous job unless they specifically require previous experience. You could try asking an academic tutor or school counsellor to provide an academic reference, or you could ask someone you have known for a long time to provide a character reference (please note: this person must be a professional in their field.
