Justin Casten: Hand Drawn is good. But CGI for me is better.Reason? Being an amateur graphic student, CGI is more... captivating. Take -- Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children for example. One of my favourite movies -- art, graphics, music; just looking at Cloud makes me feel that he is cuddly lol! And the bikes! OMG i want one! (but im a girl, so yea...dream on for me 8D)Plus, more details are able to be seen with CGI, as well as realism. Not saying that sometimes hand drawn isn't, I just prefer CGI over hand drawn.I think both CGI and handrawn will still be used -- neither one is more dominant than the other :DBut over all, I like them both :D...Show more
Joni Ziak: I prefer hand drawn of course. There are so many possibilities people WILL take advantage of. I mean yes, character designs in the great CGI films vary widely but in hand-drawn you have imagery as varied as Watership Down, Yellow Submarine, The Triplets of Belleville, Akira, Pinocchio and the Asterix the ! Gaul films. C. S. Lewis did NOT want a live-action adaptation of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe made. He was hoping for animation and that makes sense. Not only were the effects less convincing in those days, but art is a visual language and with designed figures you can have a beautiful counterpart to the moralism which was inherent in his text (and a reason I borrowed them from my church library to read as a kid.I don't think hand-drawn ever went away. Of course they use CGI even in anime these days, and I will certainly admit that the big studios prefer CGI because they are making corporate product and want to show us it is corporate product. But there are still many hand-drawn shorts being made around the world and I think a lot of exciting work is being done in it....Show more
Annabell Bevier: Well, I'm a 3D animator but I love 2D animation, I grew up watching Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry,I always wanted to become an animator because I want to draw t! hose amazing characters every day:),but unfortunately I am ver! y bad at drawing so I was rejected by many animation schools but 3D animation gave an opportunity to animation wannabes like me who can't even hold a pencil enter into the realm of animation. If it is a good story it doesn't mattter its 2D or 3D.I believe that hand drawn will come back to its glory days without making 3D animators jobless! :D...Show more
