Contact references before potential employer calls?

Ollie Desalvo: Giving them a heads up is always good form. Telling them a bit about the potion is even better. Good luck!

Bob Nakamoto: i imagine it explains a touch too a lot. i'd basically record the references and contain the note asking them to allow you to recognize in the adventure that they intend to the contact your contemporary agency, that you'll enable them recognize the decision is coming. pass the point out of previous agency because you've the own reference of yet another lawyer. you do not favor to over clarify issues and get them questioning that you're trying to artwork some thing previous them....Show more

Sheree Hipwell: Before you list anyone as a reference, you should at least ask their permission to use their name and also to give out their phone number. Then your choice of references should be professional business people that you and your family knows personally, or possibly your church pastor. Human Resource Managers like contacting th! ose types of people because they're always straight and to the point and 99 percent of the time their information is completely correct....Show more

Frank Gazaway: Yeah my friends call me when they put me down as a reference just to let me know someone might be calling. Its not only polite but if you don't they may not know what to say because they haven't thought about it ahead of time. Then this way they have enough time to gather their thoughts.
