home theater in a box?

Curt Broadhead: I bought a Kenwood theater in a box in 2000. I still have the same one and it sounds good. At the time they had 3 different options and I did get the highest priced one. There are many little things to pay attention to besides power. I would make sure the sub is powered. This means it will have its own amp separate from the receiver. I would also look for the one with the most inputs for audio and video. Pay attention to digital audio inputs also. Even if you are hooking up one component to your tv you may need these inputs later. I am glad I spent a little more because I would have ran out of inputs a long time ago....Show more

Benny Stehno: Yamaha, Onkyo, Sony, Denon, Harman/Kardon... These should put you on the right track to decent sound in a home theater in a box system. T! ry to listen for yourself first if you can before you make the purchase. Or at least make sure you have the option to return it or exchange it.
