Bad credit but no credit history?

Anibal Katayama: If you are employed 12/18 months and have $500 in a savings account, you should be able to convert it into a secured credit card from a bank. Just make sure they report to the credit bureau. In 12 months you'll havce a fair score (620/659) in 24 a good score (660/.749) and in 36+, excellent (750/840)

Angelyn Ducas: oxymoron. bad credit IS CREDIT HISTORY

Marita Stadick: Actually if you have no credit history, your FICO score would be 0. You need to look at your actual credit report and see what shows. There may be something on there that doesn't belong to you. Were you ever added to a parent's credit card as an authorized user? That would show on your credit report and count in your FICO score (only for spouses and kids). If the account is in good standing, it should add to your credit. In any case, lack of history isn't the same as bad credit. It's much easier to overcome lack of history. You may have to start with a secured credit card. ! Check with your bank....Show more

Frederick Mccoach: It is normal for anyone who applies more than once to be denied every time. You would have had a better chance if you had applied only one time. If you apply more than once without waiting over a year in between, then they will see that you applied less than a year earlier, and they may deny you (but give you a different reason). It is normal not to be able to get a credit report online. It is normal to have to mail it.What is not normal is for someone who either has no credit history or has bad credit to apply more than once. Applying makes your credit even worse than it already is. Big mistake....Show more

Norine Lomonte: you sure you have no history? bad loan payments, charged off bank account, bad checks. etc can all effect your credit.
